Hello Eagle Families! Week 2 of Distant Learning is now in the books and what another incredible week. We are so pleased to see our Eagles working hard during these difficult times. Our teachers have been doing a tremendous job communicating with students and parents, while continuing to push our students academically. We have enjoyed seeing so many students via Zoom and Google Meet video chats and we have also seen so many wonderful projects and assignments being submitted. Way to go Mesquite!
While we are still months away from the 2020-2021 school year, we did want to let you know that consideration forms will be done digitally this year from our website. This form will be posted on our website from April 20th to April 24th. You may fill one out for each of your children, but please only submit one per child.

Tomorrow we will be distributing Chromebooks with chargers for our 1st-6th students.
In order to reduce contact and maintain our social distance, we will pass out materials in a drive thru manner. Items will be placed in your trunk to avoid any contact. There will be staff members and signs to guide you and make this a smooth process.
Thursday 8am-11am
1st-3rd: From Cedar, make a right onto Bandicoot. Along Bandicoot, you will come up to a 1st Grade Chromebook distribution station. Follow the signs into the parking lot from Bandicoot for the 2nd Grade distribution station. The 3rd Grade distribution station will be located inside the bus loading zone. (**If your child has a sibling in grades 4-6, you may also collect their Chromebook along the Kindergarten gate on Mesquite St.**)
Thursday 12pm-2pm
4th-6th: From Cedar, make a right onto Bandicoot. Along Bandicoot, you will come up to a 4th Grade Chromebook distribution station. Follow the signs into the parking lot from Bandicoot for the 5th Grade distribution station. The 6th Grade distribution station will be located inside the bus loading zone.
Mesquite Trails:
This week we are rolling out Learning Packets for our TK/K students and Chromebooks for grades 1st-6th.
TK/K Distribution: Wednesday 8am-11am
1st-3rd Chromebook Distribution: Thursday 8am-11am
4th-6th Chromebook Distribution: Thursday 12pm-2pm
It is imperative you DO NOT leave your car. We are following all social distancing regulations. Just follow the signs and staff member’s directions to the appropriate grade level distribution drive thru station. Your child does not need to be present to receive the materials.
Hello Mesquite Trails Parents! With the school closure and other safety precautions being in place, we have postponed our kindergarten registration. As of right now, no official date has been set, but we will keep you posted as we get more information. Until then, take care of your little Eaglets and we hope to see you all soon. 🦅
Hi Mesquite Trails Families! Please read the important information below. 🦅
School meals will still be provided through March 20th for all district students. Lunch for the current day and breakfast for the following day will be available starting each day at 11am and ending at 1pm. Pickup of school meals for all district students will be available at Hesperia High at the bus drop off, Sultana High main parking lot at Sultan Hall, and Cedar Middle school at the west parking lot. You will be able to drive up and pick up the meal without leaving your car. Meals will only be provided for children under the age of 18 that are physically present at the time of pickup.

El almuerzo del día actual y el desayuno para el siguiente día estarán disponibles a partir de las 11:00 a.m. y hasta la 1:00 p.m. La repartición de comidas escolares para todos los alumnos del distrito será en el área de descenso de los autobuses escolares de Hesperia High School; en el estacionamiento principal en la sala Sultan Hall de Sultana High School; y en el estacionamiento de Cedar Middle School. Usted podrá pasar en su carro y recoger la comida sin tener que bajarse de su automóvil. Sólo se podrá brindar comida para los niños menores de 18 años de edad que se encuentren físicamente presentes al momento de recoger la comida.

With the President Trump’s recent proclamation of a national emergency and Governor Newsom’s latest executive order regarding the coronavirus, Hesperia Unified
School District will be cancelling all activities next week, March 16-20. The following week will be spring break. While we tentatively plan to reopen on March 30, we will be assessing where we are at that time and communicate to our community if further action is necessary. Thank you again for your support during this time.
The Scholastic Book Fair is still going on at Mesquite! Hurry in this week and pick up some new books. 📚🦅
Attention Eagle families! Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for. Join us at 12:30 in the Eagle room and have lunch with the principal! Due to rain in the forecast the Hesperian Ninja Warrior Finals will be rescheduled to FRIDAY, APRIL 3 2020. Elementary will start at 8:00 AM, middle school at 10:15 AM, and high schools at 11:15 AM.

MT: HUSD has gone digital for open enrollment! All students will be receiving an email with instructions on how to apply for a transfer to another school. Please be sure to look for this email. Parents can also visit the Mesquite Trails website at www.mesquitetrailselementary.org for more information. Open enrollment began Friday February 21, 2020 and will close on March 20, 2020.
